Adolescence can be the most troublesome time in the developing of youth. During this period teens tend to deal with issues and struggles that generally focus on themselves and what others think about them. Decisions concerning relationships, their future, and changes happening to their bodies can all influence the attitude and emotional state of a teenager. In the United States, a substantial amount of adolescents are dealing with depression. The advancement of depression can cause teens to feel that they can aid themselves with the use of alcohol and drugs; often abusing the two. Other ways of dealing with depression are violence in school, hostility towards their peers, and withdrawl from their parents. The most tragic result that these emotions and actions may lead to is choosing to take their own life. Teen suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers in the United States.
The purpose of this website is to bring awareness to teen suicide and to help aid those adolescents who struggle with depression.
